Rahul Narwekar, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly on Sunday expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance forming the government again in the state, saying that the party is "well equipped with its campaign plan" for the upcoming assembly elections.

He further expressed confidence and highlighted the developmental work done in the state.

"I quite am sure that the Mahayuti government will be formed again in Maharashtra for the simple reason that they have delivered to the people of Maharashtra. You can see the infrastructure development, may it be the coastal road, the Atal Sethu, samruddhi highway Nagpur-Mumbai and many others projects which have been for the benefit of the people," he told ANI.

Rahul Narwekar is the party's candidate from the Colaba assembly seat. He will be facing off against Heera Nawaji Devasi from the Congress.

Also talking about the 'Ladki Bahin Yojna' of the state government, he added, "The Ladki Bahin Yojna has also given much required assistance of the female population of the state. So I am very sure this government will come back to power for the good work that they have done in the state."

When asked about the star campaigners, he said that many campaigners have a mass following across the state.

"BJP is well equipped with its campaign plan. We have many star campaigners who have a big fan following, and I am sure each one of them will work hard towards the victory of the alliance," he said.

On October 26, BJP released the list of its star campaigners and named 40 leaders that includes the top leadership of the party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in it.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has also been named on the list, followed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pramod Sawant, among others.

The list also includes names of prominent leaders from the state: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, party leaders Vinod Tawde, Narayan Rane, Pankaja Munde, Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Girish Mahajan, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Ashish Shelar, Udayan Raje Bhonsle, Raosaheb Danve Patil, Ashok Chavan, Sudhir Mugantiwar, Navneet Rana, among others.

Narwekar further hit out at the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), dismissing their allegations against Mahayuti, "We have seen the drama unfolding in the MVA, so I don't think they have any capacity to talk about alliance not being in order."

Notably, he also expressed confidence in Mahayuti's potential to win the Worli assembly seat, where Shiv Sena's (Eknath Shinde) candidate Milind Deora will be facing off against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.

He said, "Mahayuti has a very good potential to win the Worli Assembly seat, if you see last time around the difference was around 6,000 votes. I am sure Mahayuti has an edge over other candidates themselves."

The 288 seat Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with the counting of votes set for November 23. (ANI)
