MP CM Mohan Yadav performs 'Govardhan Puja' at CM residence in Bhopal

CM Yadav also fed cows at a gaushala on the premises of the CM House on this occasion.

"Our culture is a festival-oriented culture. Every festival introduces us to the mysteries of life and also gives us a chance to immerse ourselves in joy. In the true sense, Diwali is the Diwali of farmers. India is an agricultural-oriented country and in such a situation, the explanation of our relationship with Cow is the proof of the spirit of our co-existence," CM Yadav said.

The cow is the mother of this world. India's development, progress and history have been glorified by the life of the Gaumata. Milk occupation is the backbone of economic development. India is identified with its cattle, he added.

"All our sages have always emphasised cow worship. The Madhya Pradesh government is doing a great job in the protection of the cattle. According to the census of cattle 2019, there are over 1.39 crores cattle in Madhya Pradesh which is the third highest in the country. We are trying to get in the first place and to increase the number of Gaushala in the state. We are also increasing the grants for the cattle," the CM said.

He further highlighted that cattle have a huge contribution in increasing the income of the farmers therefore, the state government is working to promote cow rearing in the state through the animal husbandry department.

The CM also expressed satisfaction that the state government was serious and also taking a solid move in that direction.

"On the occasion of Govardhan Puja, I have performed worship at my residence and then will perform the puja at a government program. We have tried to construct a big Gaushala for all the municipal Corporations so in the first year we have focused on Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior. I am happy that all the gaushalas are being operated and working for the protection of cows under the supervision of our sages. I extend my greeting to everyone on Govardhan Puja," said CM Yadav.
