Ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Friday said that JMM and Congress are going to form a government in Jharkhand, no matter what BJP leaders propagate in the state.
"JMM and Congress are going to form a majority government. No matter what BJP leaders propagate there, people are very satisfied with the work of JMM and Congress, so there is full hope of our government being formed with a full majority," Gogoi told ANI. Earlier today, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal and Congress state in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir arrived in Jharkhand and tried their hands on the traditional dhol at Ranchi airport. Upon his arrival at Jharkhand, Venugopal said that JMM-Congress will fight the elections and form our government again in Jharkhand. "They (BJP) will say new things to divert the issue...We are very confident that we will win and form our government again," Venugopal told reporters in Ranchi," Venugopal said. Jharkhand Minister and Congress candidate from Jamshedpur-West Assembly seat, Banna Gupta said that the INDIA bloc will deliberate on how they can perform better in the state. "Congress general secretary KC Venugopal has arrived in Jharkhand. Certainly, our candidates and the people of the INDIA bloc who are contesting the elections will deliberate on how they can perform better and form the government in Jharkhand again," Gupta said. The BJP has alleged that Hemant Soren's age increased by seven years in the last five years. Soren declared his age to be 42 in 2019, but this year, he mentioned in the affidavit that his age is 49. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will contest from the Barhait Assembly constituency. Elections for 81 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be conducted in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23. (ANI)
