Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-in-charge for the Jharkhand assembly polls, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday slammed Chief Minister Hemant Soren, saying that people are fed up with his government.

Sarma also asked Soren to declare that he would remove all the infiltrators from the state. He also exuded confidence in the BJP's victory in the upcoming Assembly election in the state.

"People are fed up with the JMM government. I am confident that this time the BJP government will be formed very well. Once Hemant Soren says that he will remove the infiltrators, our war will end. No matter whose fault it is, he should say that together with the central government, he will remove the infiltrators," Sarma told ANI.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo targeted Hemant Soren, alleging discrepancies in his nomination papers.

" There are a lot of differences between CM Hemant Soren's nominations of 2021 and 2024...in 2021, CM was 45 years old and after 5 years, he became 49 years old, how is it possible? so many assets about which he had mentioned in his 2021 affidavit, have disappeared now," Deo told reporters in Ranchi.

As the Assembly election nears, the BJP has intensified its attack against Hemant Soren.

On Wednesday, Sarma slammed Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren, saying that they focus solely on their family matters, while the BJP prioritizes the welfare of all people in Jharkhand.

"There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in Jharkhand, and the BJP is set to win with an absolute majority. Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren only talk about their family, while we speak for the entire Jharkhand," Sarma told ANI.

"We will secure a strong victory with a good number of votes," he added.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren will contest from the Barhait Assembly constituency.

Kalpana Soren, the JMM leader, filed her nomination as her party candidate from the Gandey Assembly constituency earlier in the month.

Kalpana Soren is currently representing the Gandey constituency.

Elections for 81 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be conducted in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23.

A total of 2.60 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in Jharkhand, including 1.31 crore male voters and 1.29 crore female voters. The state has 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 66.84 lakh young voters.

In the previous assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP won 25 and Congress won 16 seats. (ANI)
