Tripura: State govt unveils comprehensive development plans for TSR forces

The Tripura Government has announced a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare and operational efficiency of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) forces.

These schemes are designed to provide significant benefits to soldiers and officers across all battalions.

According to these new initiatives, the monthly ration allowance for personnel will see a substantial rise from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, ensuring better sustenance for the forces. The clothing allowance for people of all ranks will be increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, allowing for improved gear and attire.

Each battalion will receive Rs five lakh to establish a gymnasium, promoting physical fitness and well-being among personnel.

These new initatives by the state government will raise the monthly remuneration for Medical Officers serving in the TSR Battalion, providing Rs 60,000 to attract qualified medical professionals.

A provision has also been made for the ad hoc promotion of 240 jawans, acknowledging their service and dedication.

These initiatives underscore the State Government's commitment to the overall development of the TSR forces, aiming to boost morale and operational effectiveness. The measures are expected to foster a supportive environment for the dedicated personnel safeguarding the state.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday attended Diwali celebrations at the 2nd Battalion TSR Camp in Binan Kobra Para, Mandwai.

During the festivities, CM Saha interacted with the personnel, gaining valuable insights into the various initiatives and equipment utilized by the TSR. He expressed his gratitude for their dedicated service and emphasized the importance of supporting the forces that ensure the safety and security of the region.

CM Saha took to X and called his Diwali celebrations "truly special" and said that he gained insights into TSR's initiatives and equipment during his visit.

The nation is all set to celebrate Diwali on October 31st with festivities being kicked off with Dhanteras. Known as the 'Festival of Lights', Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. It spans five days, beginning with Dhanteras and ending with Bhai Dooj. Families decorate their homes with lamps, share sweets, and engage in joyous festivities, symbolizing unity and hope. (ANI)
