Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP assembly election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma who came to Kolhan to meet BJP party leaders ahead of the Assembly polls in the state said that there is a very good atmosphere and BJP will win 10 to 12 seats here.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "There is a very good atmosphere in Kolhan, there are 14 seats, BJP will win 10 to 12 seats."

All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) party president and former deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sudesh Mahato filed his nomination from the Silli assembly constituency on Friday.

Assam CM Sarma said, "I wish all the NDA parties the best. I am confident that Sudesh Mahato will win a record victory from Silli. I thank everyone. Even after the rains thousands of people joined Sudesh Mahato to fill the nomination papers."

Sarma alleged that if Congress contests 100 seats in any state then out of that 20 seats are sold.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) released its fifth list of candidates on Friday ahead of the Jharkhand election, JMM said in a press release.

Earlier former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren filed his nomination as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Saraikella and said that the Congress and its alliance have no existence in Jharkhand and that they don't stand anywhere in the elections.

"...Not only in Jharkhand, there is a BJP wave across the country. Nobody will be able to stop this wave. Alliance with Congress has no existence in Jharkhand and they stand nowhere in these elections," said Champai Soren.

On October 19, BJP announced its first list of 66 candidates for Jharkhand assembly elections as the ruling JMM-led alliance finalised the contours of their seat-sharing agreement.

Bharatiya Janata Party will contest the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections in alliance with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). BJP will contest 68 seats, AJSU 10 seats, JD-U two seats and LJP one seat.

Elections are being held on 81 seats of the Jharkhand assembly in two phases on November 13 and November 20, results will be declared on November 23. (ANI)
