The Delhi High Court on Friday extended the interim bail for one month granted to a man convicted in the Ashok Vihar Triple murder case. In this case, three men were convicted for three murders.

Two women and one man were killed by the convicts in the Ashok Vihar area in 2010. Convict Nakul Khari was in custody for more than 14 years.

A division bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma extended the interim bail granted to Nakul Khari for one month.

The trial court had Convicted Khari along with Ankit Chaudhary and Mandeep Nagar in September 2023 and awarded a sentence on December 19, 2023. His appeal is pending before the High Court.

"Considering the long period of incarceration already undergone, the appellant is directed to be released on interim bail for one month from the date of his release," the division bench said in an order passed on September 26.

Advocate Amit Rana had moved a petition on behalf of Nakul Khari seeking an extension of interim bail.

The appellant's counsel Amit Rana Submitted that interim bail was being sought on humanitarian grounds as the appellant has already undergone incarceration for about 14 years and one month.

It was earlier submitted by the counsel that the brother-in-law of the appellant passed away on February 12, 2024, and thus the appellant wishes to spend some time with his mother and sister.

Delhi police filed a status report after verifying the address of the appellant's sister.

In this case, a married couple, Kuldeep and Monika, and another girl, Shobha, were killed. (ANI)
