The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in partnership with the International Academy of Mediators (IAM), successfully conducted a 15-hour advanced commercial mediation training program from October 14 to 16, 2024, at the Supreme Court of India. This three-day event gathered legal professionals, mediators, and judges to enhance skills in navigating complex commercial disputes.

The program was inaugurated by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman of NALSA. He was joined by distinguished guests including Justice M.M. Sundresh, Justice M.L. Mehta, and several key members from the legal community. The training aimed to equip participants with advanced mediation techniques tailored to high-stakes commercial conflicts. Renowned global experts facilitated sessions on topics such as the psychology of negotiation, managing difficult parties, and handling cross-border disputes. Interactive case studies and practical simulations enriched the participants' learning experience.

Concluding on October 16, the program emphasized the importance of aligning India's mediation practices with international standards, marking a significant advancement in promoting commercial mediation as a preferred dispute resolution method in India. Participants received certificates, underscoring NALSA's commitment to integrating alternative dispute resolution mechanisms into the Indian judicial system. (ANI)
