Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday expressed confidence in winning the upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, as well as the Kedarnath bypolls, stating that people would opt for a "double-engine government" in both states.

"The people of Maharashtra and Jharkhand will choose a double-engine government. We will continue to advance the development being carried out in the country and the states under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi," CM Dhami said.

He further reiterated that the voters in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand would favour the BJP-led double-engine government.

"There will be a by-election in Kedarnath, and in this bypoll, people will choose development and ensure BJP's victory. The people of Maharashtra and Jharkhand will also opt for a double-engine government," he added.

The bypoll in Uttarakhand's Kedarnath is scheduled for November 20, with the vote count to be held on November 23.

Rajiv Kumar also announced the dates for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

Jharkhand will vote in two phases on November 13 and 20, while Maharashtra will conduct a single-phase election on November 20. The vote count for both states will take place on November 23. (ANI)
