A day after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed concern over the 'lack of control' on content in OTT platforms, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Sunday said that the Union government shares this concern and the concerned ministry "will take action."

"We completely agree with that. This is a worldwide problem. The government will always think about that and the concerned ministry will take action," Joshi told ANI.

"We are already working on all such things that we receive. As far as I know, the government is already examining that," he added.

Bhagwat on Saturday expressed concern that children and youth were getting negatively impacted by the certain contents in the OTT platforms.

In his annual Vijayadashami speech in Nagpur, he said the distorted propaganda and poor values spread by various systems and institutions are negatively affecting the minds, words and deeds of the younger generation in Bharat.

He said mobile phones have now reached the hands of children as well and there is little control over what is shown and what children are watching.

He said there is little to no control over OTT platforms on what is being shown. "Lot of content is so disgusting that even mentioning it would be a violation of decency. There is an urgent need for laws over the perverted visual content reaching our homes, especially children," he said.

He said there seems to be an urgent need for legal monitoring over advertisements and perverted visual content reaching homes and society.

The RSS chief said that a sense of self-pride is increasing in the society, especially in the younger generation. (ANI)
