Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday evening visited the Durga Puja pandals here on the occasion of Maha Asthami.

Speaking to ANI, Saha said "We always say that it is the Bengali's Puja but today morning I went to the tribal areas and visited at least eight to ten places. I asked the people on how long they have been worshipping the Goddess, and to my surprise, someone said for 30 years, while the other one said for eight years. Today, on the occasion of Maha Asthami, for the first time I got such good luck. Durga Maa blesses everyone. I have also noticed that the whole of Tripura is celebrating the entire festival together. We kept aside whatever bad happened in the last couple of months and came together. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the people on this occasion."

On October 10, the CM had engaged in the Matri Aradahana at Ramakrishna Mission here.

He emphasised the cultural significance of the festival.

He also attended the Durga Puja festivities at the Sanghati Club in Kailashahar Sri Rampur.

During his visit, Saha took the opportunity to exchange warm wishes with local residents, celebrating the spirit of the Sharadiya Durga Utsav.

His participation in these events highlights the importance of cultural traditions in fostering community spirit and unity among the people.

CM Saha took to X and said that he participated in the 'universal' festival with people.

"On Punya Saptami Tithi we received the blessings of Maa Durga, organized at the residence of the State Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Tinku Roy at Chandipur. I am deeply touched by the Roy family's warm hospitality. Durga Puja is a festival of devotion, culture and union. People from all parts of the state rejoiced in the worship of Goddess Mahamaya Durga. I also participated in this universal festival with people from all over the state. A few moments of circumambulation at various places," he said. (ANI)
