Akhilesh Yadav pays floral tribute to Mulayam Singh on his death anniversary; remembers Ratan Tata after he passed away

Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday paid floral tributes to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on his death anniversary.

SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav along with other party members also paid their tributes to former UP CM in Etawah.

Speaking on it, Akhilesh said, "Netaji rose from this very land and came to be known as Dharti Putra. He has seen many ups and downs of politics and has always given direction to society and politics... Today, as we remember him, we take a resolve to bring changes in the lives of people through socialistic values."

Mulayam Singh Yadav, a former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, had founded the Samajwadi Party. He died on October 10, 2022, at the age of 82. He was elected 10 times to the Uttar Pradesh assembly and seven times to Lok Sabha and was popularly known as 'Netaji'.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was conferred the Padma Vibhushan posthumously by President Droupadi Murmu and the award was received by his son Akhilesh Yadav.

Further, mentioning the demise of industrialist Ratan Tata who passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday, the SP Chief said that Ratan Tata's thought and vision was such - no compromise with values while doing business.

"When we are remembering Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) today, we have got another sad news that industrialist Ratan Tata is no more between us. An industrialist, and the group which have contributed much to the economy of this country - both in the pre-Independence and post-independence eras. Ratan Tata's thought and vision was such - no compromise with values while doing business... He gave an example of how to work for the welfare of the people," Akhilesh said.

Rata Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was the Chairman of Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two of the largest private-sector-promoted philanthropic trusts in India. He was the Chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. Then he was appointed Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons.

He was honoured with the country's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2008. (ANI)
