Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday, accusing Arvind Kejriwal of "unconstitutionally" handing over the keys to the bungalow of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
"Arvind Kejriwal's corrupt 'Sheesh Mahal' has finally been sealed. This morning, the BJP demanded this. The 'Sheesh Mahal,' whose sanctioned plan was not approved, and which did not receive a completion certificate from the authorities, how could you reside in the bungalow? Yet, you still tried to sneak in your Chief Minister (Atishi)," said the Delhi BJP president in a self-made video. He further questioned what secrets might be hidden in the bungalow, alleging that AAP staged "good drama" by removing their belongings from the residence. "What secrets are hidden in that bungalow that, without handing over the keys to the relevant department, you were trying to re-enter the bungalow? You staged a good drama by removing your belongings in two small trucks. Everyone knows that the bungalow remains in your possession. The manner in which you attempted to hand over the bungalow to Atishi was unconstitutional. Atishi has already been allocated a bungalow, so how can she take yours? There are many secrets hidden in that bungalow," he said. The self-made video was posted on X, where Sachdeva also claimed that illegal activities, including tree felling and unauthorised construction, took place. "Inside AAP's Sheesh Mahal, trees were illegally felled, unauthorised construction was carried out, and the hard-earned money of Delhiites was invested in that Sheesh Mahal," his post read. Virendra Sachdeva also demanded that all information regarding the bungalow be made public. "The BJP has continuously demanded an investigation and the sealing of the building, and now every detail about this bungalow should be made public," he added. He further claimed that the bungalow was handed over to Atishi without following proper procedures, stating, "The Aam Aadmi Party's rushed efforts to allow current Chief Minister Atishi Marlena to occupy the Sheesh Mahal bungalow, without adhering to government allotment rules, clearly indicate that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trying to conceal something from the people of Delhi, the law, and the Public Works Department." Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had claimed that Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena forcibly removed the belongings of CM Atishi from 6, Flag Staff Road, the official residence of the Chief Minister. "For the first time in the history of the country, a Chief Minister's residence has been vacated. At the behest of the BJP, the LG forcibly removed CM Atishi's belongings from the residence. The LG is preparing to allot the CM's residence to a senior BJP leader," AAP alleged. Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also claimed in a post on X that Lieutenant Governor Saxena was falsely "planting stories in the media" that CM Atishi's belongings were removed because she had not handed over the keys to the Public Works Department.
