BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said that the Congress' 'Khata-Khat' model has failed in Haryana and it is the policies of PM Modi that are continuously benefiting the BJP.

Thakur extended his gratitude to the people for making BJP victorious and said that the hard work of the party workers has paid off.

Speaking on the election results, that were declared today, BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, "I am very grateful to the people, the hard work of the workers has paid off. Each section of society was with the BJP on the day of voting. It is the policies of the Modi government that are continuously benefiting the BJP from the centre to the state. The 'Khata-Khat' model of Congress has failed. Congress had paid the price of their failed guarantees in Himachal Pradesh and the bad situation in Karnataka and Telangana. The main issues like "dalal-damaad' or disrespect of Dalits were present in the elections."

Thakur said that the party will evaluate the results of Jammu and Kashmir, however, he hailed the record participation that took place in all three phases of voting in the union territory.

Speaking on polls results of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "Overall, if you look at the Jammu region, the BJP performed quite well, there were some shortcomings too, perhaps better results could have come, we will see that. But the important thing is that voting took place at a record level in Jammu and Kashmir. So those who questioned EVMs, democracy and those who promoted stone pelting, terrorism, and separatism, used to look more towards Pakistan, the voters of India have shown time and again that India's democracy is very strong, this is the victory of democracy..."

National Conference-Congress alliance has secured an absolute majority in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, winning 48 seats.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) carried the alliance to victory by winning 42 seats in the results declared on Tuesday. Congress could win only six seats. Ninety seats went to the polls in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls. The BJP also put up a strong performance, winning 29 seats.

The BJP won 48 seats in the Haryana assembly, getting an absolute majority in the 90-member House, while, the Congress, which was leading in early trends, won only 37 seats, leaving a few seats behind the majority mark. Now, the BJP is poised to form its third successive government in the state. (ANI)
