BJP workers celebrate in Jaipur as party takes lead in Haryana Assembly polls

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Jaipur, Rajasthan, began celebrating as the party took leads in the Haryana Assembly polls on Tuesday.

Party workers were seen making jalebis outside the party office and bursting firecrackers to mark the BJP's third successive win in Haryana.

Polling for the 90 Assembly seats in Haryana took place on Saturday, October 5. Exit polls had predicted a clear majority for the Congress in the state.

As per the latest Election Commission of India (ECI) data at 5:00 pm, BJP won 29 seats and was leading in 20 out of the total 90 Assembly seats in Haryana. The Congress secured 28 seats and was leading in 8. Two independent candidates also won their respective seats.

Meanwhile, BJP workers in Haryana's Jind celebrated the victory of Krishan Middha from the constituency. Middha won by a margin of 15,860 votes from the Jind Assembly constituency on Tuesday afternoon.

Middha was followed by Congress party's Mahavir Gupta, who had been trailing with 53,060 votes.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini secured victory from the Ladwa Assembly constituency with a margin of 16,054 votes, according to ECI data. Saini triumphed over Congress candidate Mewa Singh and independent candidate Vikramjeet Singh Cheema.

Saini expressed his gratitude, thanking the 2.80 crore people of Haryana "wholeheartedly" and stating that the public had once again endorsed the BJP's work for the third time. He attributed the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)
