Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 'Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan- Shakti Ko Samman' program at Agastyamuni Krida Maidan in Rudraprayag.
On this occasion, he said that the local products of Kedarghati will be prepared and marketed by making Kedar brand in the country and abroad. This will be an important step towards improving the livelihood of the women power, while other facilities from home stay to the valley will also be recognized under this. Along with the religious identity of Kedarghati, the state government will work under this to give a new identity to the valley. CM Dhami, while paying tribute to the late MLA of Kedarnath Assembly Shaila Rani Rawat, said that on her demise, I had assured to take the responsibility of this assembly as her representative. In this sequence, senior ministers including the administration are constantly engaged in this for the development of the area. He said that on July 31, there was heavy damage due to heavy rains, roads and footpaths were closed. About 15 thousand people were rescued safely from various places stranded on the Yatra route by manual and heli in record time. Apart from this, the footpath was made smooth in 15 days and within a month the yatra was brought back to its earlier grand form. He thanked the locals and the people of Kedar Valley for the entire rescue operation and restarting the yatra on time. The Chief Minister said that women power is playing a very important role in giving a new identity to the state. Thousands of women associated with hundreds of women self-help groups across the state are giving a new identity to their group and the state by preparing world class products. Their livelihood is improving continuously. At the same time, the state government has formed the House of Himalayas Company and is working to strengthen the women power by rebranding the products of the state. 110 outlets have been opened by these women groups on the Chardham Yatra routes, which is strengthening their livelihood. More than 4000 women have been successful in becoming Lakhpati Didi in Rudraprayag district and this number is increasing continuously. The Chief Minister said that strict land laws are going to be implemented soon in the interest of the state and its people. The land will be taken back from those who have illegally bought and sold it and will be vested in government land. Uttarakhand is also going to be the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code. He also said that Kedarnath Dham was one, is one and will remain one, no temple will be allowed to be built using the four Dhams of Uttarakhand at any place in the country. (ANI)
