Mock polling begins for Haryana Assembly Elections across state

Ahead of the voting for Haryana Assembly elections, the officials conducted mock polls at various polling booths across the state on Saturday.

The mock polls are underway at polling booth no-120, Indus Public School of Kaithal Assembly constituency.

Congress' Aditya Surjewala, BJP's Leela Ram, AAP's Satbir Singh Goyat and JJP's Sandeep Garhi are contesting from the Kaithal seat.

Mock Polling began at polling station no. 198, 200 and 201 government girls senior secondary school, Bhainswal village of Baroda assembly seat.

Congress' Induraj Singh Narwal, JJP's Deepak Malik, BJP's Pardeep Singh Sangwan and AAP's Sandeep Malik are contesting from this seat.

Meanwhile, the mock polling is underway at polling booth no. 88, 89, 90,91 and 92 of Panchkula assembly seat.

Congress' Chander Mohan, BJP's Gian Chand Gupta, AAP's Prem Garg and JJP's Sushil Garg are contesting from the Panchkula Assembly seat.

The Mock Polling also begins at polling stations in the Adampur Assembly constituency.

JJP's Krishan Gangwa Parjapati, Congress' Chander Parkash Lal, BJP's Bhavya Bishnoi, AAP's Bhupender Beniwal and INLD's Randeep Choudaryvas are contesting from this seat.

Mock Polling at polling centres of Tiagaon assembly constituency is underway.

AAP's Abhash Chandela, JJP's Tika Ram, BJP's Rajesh Nagar and Congress' Rohit Nagar are contesting from this seat.

Moreover, mock polling began at booth no. 109 of Bhiwani Assembly seat.

AAP's Indu, INLD's Karambir Yadav, BJP's Ghanshyam Saraf and CPIM's Om Prakash are contesting this seat.

The mock polling began at booth no. 235 of the Rewari assembly constituency seat.

Congress' Chiranjeev Rao, BJP's Laxman Singh Yadav and AAP's Satish Yadav are contesting from the Rewari Assembly seat.

Ramavatar Bhatotia, Presiding Officer Jonawas Booth no 235 said that they have followed all the directions of the Election Commission of India.

"On the directions of the Election Commission of India, we have conducted everything. 50 votes we have put in. 4-4 votes of every candidate and 2 votes for NOTA. There are 12 candidates and 1 NOTA. The polling will begin at 7 am. People are excited and have already arrived to vote. The security is being tightened and we have set up the booth as per the directions of ECI," he said.

This election is a high-stakes battle as the BJP is eyeing a third straight term to power in the state, the Congress party is aiming to wrest back power riding on anti-incumbency, and issues of farmer protests and wrestler protests.

The key contesting parties in Haryana include BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as well as the pre-poll alliance between Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP).

Voting in Haryana will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in all 90 assembly constituencies, and 20,632 polling booths have been set up for voting. The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP won 40 of the 90 seats, forming a coalition government with the JJP, which won 10 seats. The Congress secured 31 seats. However, JJP later broke out of the coalition. (ANI)
