Himachal Pradesh's Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Friday announced that the state has secured five projects worth Rs 293.36 crore. These include two projects in Hamirpur, one each in Shimla, Kangra, and Mandi.
Congress MLA Vikramaditya Singh elaborated on the specifics of the projects. The Tikkar-Jarole-Gahan-Nankhari-Khamari road has been allocated Rs 54.87 crore, while Rs 41.10 crore is earmarked for the Sujanpur Tihra to Sandhol road in Hamirpur district. Additionally, Rs 79.25 crore is dedicated to improving and renovating the Navgaon-Beri road, also in Hamirpur district. A significant allocation of Rs 86.34 crore has been approved for constructing a bridge over Gaj Khad in Kangra district, a project for which the foundation stone was laid by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Further, Rs 31.80 crore has been set aside for the Bakhrot-Karsog-Sanarali-Sainj road in Mandi district. In total, Himachal Pradesh has received assistance amounting to Rs 293.36 crore from the central government. Vikramaditya Singh emphasized his commitment to the all-round development of Himachal Pradesh, stating, "Our aim is to ensure the complete development of the state across all regions." Singh also revealed that he had met with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari multiple times to secure these projects. "Himachal Pradesh has received five major projects from the central government due to these efforts," he said. When asked about the role of former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur, Singh responded, "I don't want to claim that I have done everything. Everyone has contributed to this. The development of Himachal Pradesh is happening because of the collective efforts of all involved. I am not denying anyone's contribution." In a separate comment, Singh subtly criticized Mandi MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, without directly naming her. "The actress from Emergency, who is also an honourable MP, should also bring 8-10 projects for Himachal Pradesh," he said in Shimla. "Our goal is the complete development of Himachal Pradesh everywhere. I have met with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari several times to discuss these projects. The development is happening due to the efforts of many, not just one individual." (ANI)
