Referring to Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, BJP leader Anurag Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Congress party on Thursday, claiming that the people of Haryana have made up their minds to not let "middlemen and sons-in-law" to return to power in the State.

Thakur accused the Congress party of seeking to exploit Dalits and stated that the people in the State have made up their minds to elect a BJP government for the third consecutive term.

"The people have made their minds that 'middlemen and sons-in-law' time won't return to Haryana. Congress, wants to make Haryana a lab of exploitation against Dalits, people have made up their minds that they won't let them come into power and people will usher in the BJP government for a third consecutive term," he said.

Thakur emphasised that the country cannot eradicate drugs with Congress leaders involved in the trade. He alleged that Congress is willing to collaborate with drug dealers and mafias to win elections.

"How will India free itself from drugs if the Congress leaders are involved in it? Be it drug dealers or big mafias, Congress can shake hands with anyone to win elections. When Congress was in power, they did nothing, when PM Modi came into power three times more money was used to buy farmer's produce on MSP," the BJP leader said.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi exuded confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party winning the Haryana assembly polls and stated that the patriotic people of the State will never accept the "divisive and negative politics" of the Congress.

In a post on X, PM Modi said that he has observed the enthusiasm and support for the BJP after travelling all over the state.

"The campaign for the Haryana assembly elections will end shortly. I have travelled all over the state in the last few days. The enthusiasm I have seen among the people gives me full confidence that the people of Haryana will once again give their blessings to the BJP. The patriotic people of Haryana will never accept the divisive and negative politics of the Congress," the Prime Minister said.

Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member State legislative assembly, with counting set to take place on October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, securing 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
