Chief minister Manik Saha participated in the bhoomi pujan of Ekta Mall On Thursday.

In a post on media platform X, he said, "To promote 'One District, One Product', Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi Ji has decided to establish PM-Ekta Mall in every state. As part of this initiative, today participated in the Bhumi Pujan of proposed Ekta Mall at Hapania, to be built at a cost of approximately Rs 150 crore. I firmly believe that this complex will emerge as an important hub for promoting and selling state's products in the future."

He further said , "The 'Bhoomi Pujan' has taken place today. It is being built to promote 'One District, One Product'. We have given the message of PM Modi's Akhand Bharat through this. It will be ready by March 2026..."

Unity Mall is the dream project of PM Narendra Modi. In the last budget, Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the initiative that promises to redefine the nation's economic and cultural fabric - the establishment of 'Unity-Malls' or PM-Ekta Malls in each state.

The initiative's core characteristics revolve around encompassing national integration, championing the 'Make in India' ethos, and fortifying the 'One District One Product (ODOP)' initiative.

Prime Minister Ekta Mall serves as a beacon of economic empowerment and cultural celebration under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. It aims to bolster the symbiotic relationship between artisans and consumers and promote local craftsmanship and preserving cultural heritage.

Under Unity Mall, a substantial budget of INR 5,000 Cr has been allocated, with a minimum incentive of INR 100 Cr for each state. Under this scheme, 28 states are poised to construct Ekta Malls at strategic locations - their financial capitals or areas with maximum footfall.

With 27 states having already submitted Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and 13 states receiving funds from the Department of Expenditure (DoE), the momentum is building for a transformative journey. (ANI)
