A case of alleged rape has been reported at the Safdarjung Enclave Police Station after a 55-year-old woman filed a complaint against a man named Sunil, aged 35.

According to the woman, a resident of Laxmi Bai Nagar, she first met Sunil on January 1, at Sai Baba Mandir in Lodhi Road, where he offered her a ride. Sunil, claiming to work as a driver at the CGO Complex, asked for her assistance in finding a flat in Delhi, as he was new to the city. They exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch.

On June 20, Sunil invited her to Safdarjung, where he allegedly offered her a drink. After consuming the drink, she became unconscious. He then took her to the Gold Leaf Hotel and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The police registered a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Safdarjung Enclave Police Station on September 30. The investigation is ongoing (ANI).
