Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday will attend a state-level seminar hosted by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs. This event will take place at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, Tripura.

The initiative of the program is to create awareness about consumer rights; the focal point is to launch 100 selected schools and 18 colleges and universities throughout the state. These clubs are designed to educate students about their rights as consumers and to encourage responsible consumption, ultimately empowering the youth to tackle consumer-related issues in their communities.

The upcoming seminar forms a key component of the government's comprehensive plan to enhance consumer protection measures in the state of Tripura. The event aims to bring together a diverse group of participants, such as policymakers, legal professionals, educators, and students, to facilitate in-depth conversations focused on bolstering consumer rights and knowledge throughout the region.

In addition to the seminar, the government's initiative includes the establishment of consumer clubs, demonstrating a dedicated effort to cultivate an empowered and well-informed consumer community. This approach is vital for effectively addressing and resolving consumer concerns.

Among the dignitaries present will be Sushanta Chaudhary, Minister of Food & Civil Supply, Dipak Majumder, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, and other officials from relevant sectors. Students from various schools and colleges will also participate in this pivotal event, marking a significant step forward in consumer rights advocacy in Tripura.

Earlier, CM Saha organised various initiatives and programs for the state's welfare.

He has also participated in a blood donation camp organised in celebration of PM Modi's birthday by the Bharatiya Janata Party Mandal Committee of Banamalipur at the Nazrul Kalakshetra Auditorium in the city.

He also appreciated PM Modi's initiatives for improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure, urging attendees to support these programmes to drive progress in the region. (ANI)
