Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his grief over the demise of BJP leader and former MLA from Soorsagar Assembly Suryakanta Vyas.

"Received the sad news of the demise of the former MLA from Soorsagar Assembly, senior member of the BJP family, Smt. Suryakanta Vyas 'Jiji'," Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma wrote in a post on X on Wednesday.

He also mentioned in his last meeting with Vyas and termed her death an "irreparable loss" for the Bharatiya Janata Party family.

"I met him a few days ago and got the opportunity to receive her blessings and guidance. Her immense love and affection towards me always remained with me. Her demise is an irreparable loss for the Bharatiya Janata Party family. My condolences are with the bereaved family," Sharma wrote on X.

"I pray to the Lord to give a place to the departed soul in his lotus feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense sorrow. Om peace!" he said.

Former Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also condoled the demise of Suryakanta Vyas.

"The demise of Mrs. Suryakanta Vyas 'Jiji', a former MLA from Soorsagar, is extremely sad. 'Jiji' remained actively involved in public service even during this phase of her life. 'Jiji's affection and love for me were unparalleled. Her departure is also a personal loss for me. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and courage to the family members," he wrote in a post on X.

Jodhpur MLA Atul Bhansali expressed his condolences, stating that 'Jiji' (Suryakanta Vyas) is no longer with us in this world.

He mentioned that whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jodhpur, he would always enquire about 'Jiji'.

Recalling his earlier meetings with Vyas, he said, "'JiJi' always looked after all of us. When I contested my first election and lost, 'Jiji' told me that she would teach me how to build relationships with the public.

"Jiji had a sharp mind; she always kept a diary with her," he said. (ANI)
