Maharashtra's CM, Dy CM and Governor participates in Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai

On the occasion of Ananta Chaturdashi, last day of the ten-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Sindhe, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Governor CP Radhakrishnan took part in 'Ganesh Visarjan' in at Girgaon Chowpatty in Mumbai

Shinde extended his wishes to people on culmination of the 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival

"Ever since Ganesh Chaturthi, the vibe of the state has changed. Nearly 12 lakh people are present here at Girgaon Chowpatty. Thousands of Ganpati idols are being brought here for immersion. Ganeshotsav is the biggest festival of Maharashtra and people celebrate it despite their social status," Shinde said.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with his family did 'Ganesh Visarjan' at his residence.

"We did Ganesh visarjan at our residence today. I am hopeful that people celebrated this festival with enthusiasm and immersion will also be done in the same manner while maintaining law & order," Fadnavis said.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also participated in Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai.

"Ganeshotsav is celebrated across the state, especially in Mumbai, with great enthusiasm," he said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with his wife celebrated Ganesh Visarjan in Bhopal.

"May Lord Ganesha bless everyone. The entire country has celebrated Ganesh Utsav with great joy. May Lord Ganpati shower his grace and blessings on the people.All the devotees worshipped and immersed Ganpati today," Chauhan said.

Meanwhile in Hyderabad, The visarjan of the 70-foot tall idol of Lord Ganesh from Khairatabad was completed in the Hussain Sagar Lake.

Ganesh Chaturthi festival commenced on September 7 and came to end on Anantha Chaturdashi. This festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi. During Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles.
