The junior doctors from the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have arrived at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence at Kalighat on Monday evening ahead of their meeting with the CM to put forward their "five-point demands," amid the protests against the rape and murder of the trainee doctor on August 9.

The junior doctors were accompanied by two stenographers to assist in the meeting.

Earlier, the meetings did not come to fruition following the disagreements over transparency concerns of the meeting.

In a series of emails with the Chief Secretary earlier today, the junior doctors agreed to hold the meeting with the Chief Minister after the Chief Secretary confirmed that minutes of the meeting would be signed by both parties and copies shared to ensure clarity and agreement on the discussions.

According to a letter sent by the Chief Minister to the junior doctors, this was the fifth and final call by the CM to the junior doctors to hold a meeting with her to forward their demands.

In a letter to the junior doctors, it was stated, "This is the fifth and final time we are reaching out to you for a meeting between the Honourable Chief Minister and your delegates. In line with our discussion from the day before, we once again invite you to a meeting with the Honourable Chief Minister at her Kalighat residence for an open-minded discussion."

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Junior Doctor Front held a press conference in Delhi today and put forward their "five-point demand." This includes the removal of the Kolkata Commissioner of Police as well as the replacement of all the senior officials in the Health Department and Family Welfare Department of the West Bengal Government.
