Ganesh Chaturthi: Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai offers prayers at Ganpati temple in Raipur

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai offered prayers to Lord Ganesha at the Ganpati temple in Gol Bazar area of Raipur.

He visited the temple on Saturday evening. During his visit, he crowned the Lord Ganesha idol with a jewelled gold crown and prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being in every household across the state.

After offering prayers in the temple on Saturday, Chief Minister Sai, while speaking to the reporters, said, "Ganesh Pujan has been taking place in Gol Bazar for 115 years... Earlier also we had the good fortune of crowning Lord Ganesha here and this time we have crowned him with a jewelled gold crown, performed pooja and prayed to Lord Ganesha that there should be happiness, prosperity and peace in every home of Chhattisgarh."

During his visit to the temple, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was accompanied by Chhattisgarh BJP in-charge Nitin Navin and State President Kiran Singh Dev.

In a post on X, CM Sai said, "Today, along with State BJP in-charge Nitin Navin and State President Kiran Singh Dev, I reached Gol Bazar of the capital, worshipped Lord Ganesha, took his blessings and prayed for the progress and prosperity of all the people of the state."

"On this auspicious occasion, the idol of Lord Shri Ganesha was adorned with a golden crown. For the last 115 years, Lord Ganapati has been installed in Gol Bazar on Ganeshotsav, whose glory has spread throughout Chhattisgarh," he added in the post.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a 10-day festival, will continue until Anantha Chaturdashi. This festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi.

During Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate Lord Ganesha's wisdom and intelligence.

Homes and pandals are adorned with elaborate decorations, and the air is filled with prayers, music, and festive chants. The streets come all over with vibrant processions and traditional rituals as people prepare delicious offerings and visit the beautifully decorated pandals. (ANI)
