A unique confluence of faith, devotion and belief is seen in Ramnagari Ayodhya. Here the unwavering faith of the devotee towards God is clearly visible.
Devotees from all over the country reach Ramnagari Ayodhya to have darshan and worship Lord Shri Ram Lalla. After reaching Ayodhya, when the devotees leave after having darshan and worship of Ram Lalla, they make symbolic small house like replicas with the bricks and stones lying in the temple premises itself. The devotees then pray to Lord Ram to bless them and help them construct a home for themselves. The faithful believe that whichever devotee builds a symbolic house in the temple premises and expresses his wish for a house to his idol, Lord Ram fulfils his wishes for a permanent dwelling. Devotees say that if they build a symbolic home of a particular size then Lord Shri Ram grants them an actual house of that size. Ayodhya priest Vishnu Das said, "People from faraway places come to have a darshan of Lord Ram. They offer money and gifts to the God and in return pray for a house so as to live a comfortable life. Ayodhya is decked up with flowers and lights all throughout the year. The revered God showers his love on the devotees." The seers of Ayodhya said that the tradition of building symbolic houses in the temple area is very old, people come and make their symbolic house in this way and it has also been seen that after a few days the devotees come and are happy and thank God that they have got their home. According to another priest Sita Ram ji Maharaj, "Lord Ram is the saviour of all. He never returns his devotees empty handed. Always fulfils the desires of his people. The sacred place is visited by thousands every month and it finds a place in prominent temple sites." When the devotees who were building the symbolic houses were asked about the tradition, they said that now that Shri Ram has been seated in the grand palace, we are his subjects, and are confident that Ram Lalla will certainly give us a small home to live in. A devotee, Vinita Sharma expressed her desire to visit the holy place more often with her family. Another devotee Anjani Devi said," Ayodhya is a significant place for those who seek solace in life. It is with god's blessings that one gets to visit the city." Devotee Devesh Sharma said, "Ayodhya is a place of reincarnation. Lord Ram is of one and all and shows mercy on those who come to him with utmost devotion." It is this unshakable faith in Lord Shri Ram that sees the devotees wishes of their own home fulfilled.
