Speaking to ANI, Somya Mishra, SSP, Ferozepur said, "On September 3 in the Kamboj Nagar area of Ferozepur, six unknown assailants opened fire targeting a man Dildeep while he was travelling in a car. In that car, four more people were present- his sister, cousin brother and two friends. Three people- Dildeep, his sister and one of his friends died in the firing while the remaining two got seriously injured and are still undergoing treatment."

"After that, on the orders of the DGP Punjab Police, our different teams of counter-intelligence, AGTF and Ferozepur police came in action with human resources, technical input and CCTV footage. After that, all the teams with different sources and coordinated efforts identified the assailants," SSP Ferozepur said.

The Punjab Police, Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and counter-intelligence team with the help of Mumbai Police arrested seven accused involved from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Aurangabad said the senior police official.

According to the police, both the parties involved in the Ferozepur triple murder case had rivalry for some time.

Providing details, SSP Ferozepur said, "Initially, we arrested one person who used to do recce for other accused, was arrested on September 6. He has been identified as Daljeet Singh, a resident of Ferozepur. Our AGTF with the help of Mumbai Police and central agencies, detained them at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) and later arrested all the assailants from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. "We are thankful to the Mumbai Police for taking prompt action on the inputs of Punjab Police and the AGTF team and supporting us. There was a rivalry going on between them for some time. The victim in the case has also earlier records of crime in murder cases of 2013 and 2019. There was enmity between them for some time and in fact, there was a fight between them in May whose case is registered, so, they (arrested accused) committed this murder crime on that enmity," the senior police official said.
