Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Front National President Jamal Siddiqui said that the Muslim community is joining BJP in large numbers through the nationwide membership drive.

Speaking to ANI during the drive held in Delhi on Sunday, Jamal Siddiqui said, "The Morcha is running a membership campaign 2024 across the country. The team of Minority Front is continuously going among the people of minority community across the country and making them members of the BJP."

He said that the Minority Front has a target of making 50 lakh members and added that they can also strengthen the party for the upcoming elections.

"Today, people of Muslim community are joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in large numbers and are ready to walk step by step with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the creation of a developed India. We just need to go among them," he added.

Delhi State President Anees Abbasi told the media that 2500 minorities have enrolled as members of the BJP so far.

"There is a lot of enthusiasm among the minorities to become members of the BJP," he added.

General Secretary Faisal Mansoori, Shabana Rehman, Naeem Safi, District President Vakil Qureshi, Dilshad, and Shaukeen, among others, were present. The membership drive, which began on September 2, is set to run until October 15. For the first time, the process is being conducted through a digital app, making it more accessible and efficient for prospective members.

On September 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP's nationwide membership drive and called it an expansion of the family and also an ideological movement. "It isn't a game of numbers. It doesn't matter the numbers we achieve. This membership drive is an ideological and emotional movement," he said.

He said the BJP is the only political party that is following the democratic process properly and added that the BJP is also expanding its work and strives to improve to live up to the expectations of the people.

"Several generations have invested their lives into this party, and then today the party has made its place in the hearts of the people," he said.

PM Modi received his BJP membership renewal certificate from party president JP Nadda at the 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024' in Delhi. The membership drive will be conducted in two phases--September 2 to September 25 and October 1 to October 15. Each phase will target specific milestones, ensuring a comprehensive reach across the country. (ANI)
