LS Speaker Om Birla attends Akhand Jyoti Yatra Sammelan in Haridwar, extends greetings of Ganesh Chaturthi

Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla on Saturday attended the Akhand Jyoti Yatra Sammelan organised at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Shantikunj, Haridwar and extended greetings on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

"Today, Akhand Jyoti Yatra has begun from this land of Shantikunj... This Yatra will spread the message of Adhyatm and knowledge to the people of the country and will also help in character building and will bring Indian culture to the countrymen," Om Birla told reporters.

"I extend my best wishes to all on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Whenever you start anything new, we offer prayers to Ganesh ji" Om Birla told reporters.

In a post on X, Om Birla said that "Addressed the Jyoti Kalash Yatra Sammelan organized at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya located at Shantikunj in the holy city of Haridwar. Today the Yatra has been started in the states of the Northeast, including Rajasthan. My best wishes for this holy resolution," he posted on X.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a vibrant ten-day festival starting today, is celebrated across India with great enthusiasm. The festival will conclude on Anantha Chaturdashi.

Devotees across the country are engaged in preparations, including bringing Ganesh idols into their homes, observing fasts, preparing traditional offerings, and visiting pandals.

The festival dedicated to Lord Ganesh began yesterday (September 6) and will be observed for 10 days. (ANI)
