Social worker from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh Manoj Gautam has been acquitted of allegedly killing his brother Vinod Kumar in a case filed in 2017.

The acquittal order dated January 20 this year was pronounced by the court of Special Judge Vijay Pal in Bulandshahr.

According to the investigation, Gautam and other co-accused were falsely implicated in the FIR no-112 in 2017 filed under Police Station Khurja Nagar, Bulandshahar. The FIR had been filed under section 302/309/120b/201/34 of the PIL, 3/25/27 of the Arms Act, 3(2) of SC & ST Act

The investigation noted that Gautam had been falsely implicated by political rivals.

The order states that the Police have been unable establish the circumstantial evidence cited to file the FIR against Gautam and others. The police have also failed to establish that Manoj Gautam's licensed pistol was used in the killing. Thus, under the circumstances, Manoj Gautam has been found not guilty of the charges, the court order said.

Gautam was the aspirant of the Khurja Assembly seat from the Rashtriya Lok Dal at the time of the incident. (ANI)
