Congress MP Satpal Brahmachari indicated that if the party wants an MP to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls, then he is ready and will follow the party's high command decision.

On Haryana Assembly elections, Satpal Brahmachari told reporters in New Delhi, "If the party wants an MP to contest, then Satpal Bhramachari is ready. I will follow the party's high command's decision."

On Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini being confident about winning the polls, he said, "It will come out in the public in a few days. It is a matter of one month."

Meanwhile, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda said on Thursday that both the BJP leadership and Khattar Sahib know that the BJP is going and Congress will win here.

Soon after attending the Haryana sub-committee meeting held on Thursday at Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi, Hooda said, "People of Haryana have decided that they will form Congress government in the state. Both the BJP leadership and Khattar sahib know this. BJP workers recognise that they are not getting respect in the party and the party has no future in the state."

Meanwhile, Haryana Minister and BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala on Thursday resigned from the Cabinet after being denied a ticket by the party for the upcoming assembly polls.

The BJP released its first list of 67 candidates on Wednesday for the 90-member assembly.

Ranjit Chautala, brother of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, has decided to fight as an independent candidate from Rania seat.

"I will contest as an independent candidate from the Rania Assembly constituency. It is the decision of the people of my constituency. I have resigned from the minister's post. After I did not get the ticket, I took this decision," he told ANI.

The BJP has fielded Shishpal Kamboj from Rania seat in its first list of candidates.

Voting for assembly polls in Haryana will be held on October 5 and votes will be counted on October 8. Jammu and Kashmir will go to the polls on September 18, 25 and October 1 and votes will also be counted on October 8. (ANI)
