Amid the ongoing controversy over the legality of the under-construction Sanjauli Masjid in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Thursday that the state government has no intentions to disturb any community, adding that the local MLA and ministers are in talks with the people of the area.

"We have no intentions to disturb any community. We will not let any incident happen in the state. Political protests keep happening but no political worker has any right to disturb law and order in the state. Our local MLA and ministers are holding talks there," CM Sukhu told ANI.

Reacting to Asaduddin Owaisi's statement, the Himachal Pradesh CM said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands.

"As per the Constitution, anyone can stay anywhere in India...We have to ensure that no person from any community is disturbed. We will fulfil this responsibility well. No one will be allowed to take the law into their hands," CM Sukhu said.

Earlier, Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi criticised Congress over its stance on the issue, asking, "Is the Himachal government run by BJP or Congress?"

"There is only hatred in Himachal's 'Mohabbat ki Dukaan'! In this video, the Himachal minister is speaking the language of the BJP," Owaisi said, sharing Anirudh Singh's speech on X.

Notably, the fate of the mosque will be decided in the Municipal Commissioner's court. The case has been scheduled to be heard on September 7, in which it will be decided whether the 'unauthorised construction' should be demolished or not.

The Sanjauli Mosque row continues to stir political debate in Himachal Pradesh, with both BJP and Congress leaders expressing their positions on the issue. (ANI)
