Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the Uttar Pradesh government, asking if they would apologise for the bulldozer operations that were going on till now following the Supreme Court's order to lay guidelines on recent bulldozer practices opted by governments on immovable properties.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Yadav said the UP government deliberately ran bulldozers on those whom they wanted to take revenge from or humiliate them.

"The people who used to scare others with bulldozers used to demolish people's houses in various places; Is the map of the Chief Minister's residence approved? Tell us when it was passed, and show the papers. You deliberately ran the bulldozer on those from whom you wanted to take revenge, to humiliate them... Yesterday, the Supreme Court said that a bulldozer cannot be used. So will the government apologise for the bulldozer operation that has been going on till now or not? As far as heart and mind are concerned, I just want to say that there is no brain in a bulldoze; it runs by the steering. The people of Uttar Pradesh can change the steering of someone's bulldozer," he said.

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's name-changing policy, Yadav said that the CM should also change the name of the "Bhartiya Janata Party and make it Bhartiya Jogi Party."

"CM Yogi Adityanath should change the name of Bhartiya Janata Party and make it Bhartiya Jogi Party. When so many names have been changed, then CM should change the name of Bhartiya Janata Party too," Yadav added.

Earlier, Yadav hit back at CM Yogi Adityanath's statement alleging that lawlessness was in the DNA of the Samajwadi Party and stated that he should have known the full form of the abbreviation 'DNA' before making any accusation.

In a post on social media platform X, Yadav said, "You should have known the full form before making the accusation. DNA = Deoxyribonucleic acid... Even if I knew, I would not have been able to say it."

He further took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that people who spend billions to recruit MPs and MLAs should speak less.

"People who spend billions of rupees to recruit MPs and MLAs, the less they speak, the more respect they will get. Only those who talk a lot have to listen a lot," he added.

On Tuesday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath attacked the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav and alleged that both of them were involved in collecting "extortion" money for every government job in the state during their rule.

The UP CM further alleged that lawlessness was in the DNA of the Samajwadi Party and said that there have been no riots in the state since his government was formed in 2017.

"Anarchy and hooliganism are a part of their DNA. Their model is not of development, they loot the development works. Their work is what a Samajwadi leader did with a daughter in Ayodhya... The incident of Kannauj and Nawab Brand is the real face of the Samajwadi Party," he said.

The charge follows reports of the DNA sample of former Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav, matching those of an alleged rape victim in Kannauj. The SP leader was arrested last month for allegedly raping a minor girl in Kannauj district. (ANI)
