A Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court at Patiala House, New Delhi, has recently granted two hours of custody parole to gangster Yogesh alias Tunda to meet his ailing father. Yogesh is an accused in a case related to an organised crime syndicate under the MCOC Act as well as in the murder of Tillu Tajpuria in Tihar Jail in May 2023.

Special Judge (MCOCA) Chanderjit Singh granted two hours of custody parole to Yogesh Tunda to meet his ailing father, who is hospitalised in Sonipat, Haryana.

The court directed the jail authorities to take Yogesh to meet his father on September 3 between 11 am and 1 pm under police security.

The Court has also directed the jail authorities to take appropriate safety/security measures while taking the accused to custody parole. The jail authorities were directed to coordinate with the local police, the court said in an order passed on August 29.

Advocates Virender Mual and Deepak Kumar moved an application for Yogesh seeking 8 hours of custody parole to meet his father, who is critically ill.

Counsel for the accused stated that his father had been hospitalised in Sonipat, Haryana.

It further stated that the father of the accused is a senior citizen and is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) besides other old age diseases and was admitted at the Multispeciality Hospital in Sonipat, Haryana on August 23.

"He has been getting treated for acute exacerbation of COPD and is still being admitted to the hospital and he was further provided mechanical ventilation by the doctors during the treatment," the counsel submitted.

It was submitted that the present accused is the only son of his father and there is no one to look after him at this need of hour.

"The health of the father of the accused is deteriorating day by day not only because of his bad health but also from the fact that he has neither met the accused nor talked to him for a long time. The father of the accused has only his last wish to meet his son," the counsel added to the submission. (ANI)
