Launching a scathing attack against the Congress, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said that the Congress party will be unable to open its account in the Haryana assembly elections.

"The Congress party will be unable to open its account in Haryana assembly elections...They do not come to provide facilities to the people but to do corruption," said the Chief Minister.

"They try to garner votes by misleading the people. Congress was able to form their governments in Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka by misleading the public and they have not fulfilled the promises made to the public. Congress party has no policy, intention or leadership...Congress will get an answer from the public on 5th Oct...BJP will again form the government in Haryana..." he added.

The Haryana CM alleged that during the Congress rule only a certain section of people would get benifits.

, "... Big leaders of other parties have joined the BJP today. The BJP is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. People's faith in the double-engine government has increased... The BJP is giving jobs 'bina kharchi, bina parchi' and without any discrimination...During the Congress rule, only a certain section of the society benefitted... Congress comes to power by lying to the people. They did the same in Himachal," he said.

Earlier on Saturday, the CM welcomed the Election Commission's decision to reschedule the counting of votes for the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections.

Originally slated for October 4, the date has now been moved to October 8, 2024. The decision has been taken to honour both the voting rights and the traditions of the Bishnoi community, which has upheld a centuries-old practice of participating in the Asoj Amavasya festival celebration in remembrance of Guru Jambheshwar as per the ECI.

The Election Commission in its statement also mentioned that the revised polling date would also resolve any concerns of a six-day holiday by taking a one-day leave on September 30, 2024.

CM Saini stated that it is commendable that the Election Commission considered the feedback from various quarters and acted in the best interest of the democratic process. This decision will help ensure that voter turnout remains strong, and the integrity of the election process is maintained.

The Commission said it had received representation from the National President, All India Bishnoi Mahasabha, Bikaner (Rajasthan) for rescheduling the date of polling set for October 1. (ANI)
