Aspirants arrived on Saturday at exam centres in Uttar Pradesh amid tight security for the police constable recruitment exam 2024 being held for over 60,000 vacancies.

Candidates were seen standing in long queues outside the exam centres in Moradabad and Kanpur, where the exam is being held.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 is being held on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 at 67 exam centres across the state. It will be conducted in two shifts daily on the said dates.

About five lakh candidates will appearing for the exam in each shift.

Uttar Pradesh police have made extensive security and support measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam.

Speaking to ANI regarding the arrangements, Joint Commissioner (Law & Order) Amit Verma said, "Teams would be deployed at the exam centres. Not just security, arrangements have been made to facilitate the students."

Government Railway Police (GRP) SP Prashant Verma said that a dedicated help desk has been set up to assist candidates with any issues they might encounter.

"A lot of candidates will come from other districts. A help desk has been made so that the students don't face any problems and they can be informed about the facilities being provided by the administration," Prashant Verma said while speaking to ANI on Thursday.

In addition, a comprehensive security presence has been set up, including deployments from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), police, civil defence, Government Railway Police (GRP), and Railway Protection Force (RPF).

In February, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered to conduct the re-examination after the paper was leaked. (ANI)
