Bharatiya Janata Party Assam MLA Hemanga Thakuria said on Sunday that the party and its allies will win all five seats in the upcoming by-elections.

"We are very much confident that BJP and its ally parties will win all five seats. People of the state have trusted BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who works for the development of the people," Hemanga Thakuria said.

Recently Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, out of five seats where the bye-election will be held, BJP will contest in three seats while its ally parties AGP will contest in Bongaigaon seats while UPPL will contest in Sidli seat.

On the other hand, talking about the upcoming Panchayat polls in Assam, the BJP MLA said that, BJP and its ally parties will show a good performance in the upcoming Panchayat elections.

Earlier, Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita said that BJP will field its two candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls in two seats from Assam.

"We will field two party candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls. Other NDA partners will help us to secure both seats. A two-day crucial meeting of the BJP North Eastern region was held in Guwahati on August 10 and 11. Party Presidents of all North Eastern states, senior party leaders BL Santosh, MPs and other senior leaders were present in the meeting. During the meeting, issues of upcoming Panchayat polls, and Rajya Sabha polls were discussed," Bhabesh Kalita told ANI.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday urged ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah not to create a situation in the state that vitiates the investment environment of the state. His statement came after the seizure of "bomb-like substances" from at least eight places after the banned ULFA (I) claimed to have planted 24 bombs across Assam.(ANI)
