Uttarakhand CM Dhami holds meeting with priests, officials for smooth conduct of Char Dham Yatra

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with the priests, officials, hotel associations, tour operators, transports and business boards from the Char Dhams at the Secretariat on Saturday.

On this occasion, topics related to the safe conduct of the Char Dham Yatra, safe and smooth travel for the devotees and livelihood of the local people were discussed.

The Chief Minister said that lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad come to Uttarakhand for darshan in the Char Dham Yatra. The safe conduct of this journey is the collective responsibility of all of us.

Keeping in mind the speed at which the number of devotees is increasing, efforts are being made by the government to develop the infrastructure facilities. On this occasion, stakeholders associated with the Char Dham Yatra made various demands from the Chief Minister in view of the successful conduct of the Yatra and other aspects.

The Chief Minister said that from the first week of September till the closure of the doors, the online arrangement for the Char Dham Yatra will continue as before and the pilgrims who will not be able to register online for the darshan of the four Dhams in Uttarakhand, will be provided with registration facility on the spot.

There will be no compulsion of any kind of number in this. For this, offline spot registration will be arranged. This arrangement will also be done at the main stops of Haridwar, Rishikesh and Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

The Chief Minister said that the arrangement of barricading and checking during the Chardham Yatra will be reviewed and it will be minimized and it will be simplified to make the journey easy and smooth.

On the demand for the mandatory Green Card / Trip Card on private vehicles coming from other states, he has directed the Transport Department to resolve it. The Chief Minister said that preparations for the next Chardham Yatra will be started immediately after the end of the current Chardham Yatra.

The District Officers related to the Yatra of all the districts will hold meetings and consultations with all the stakeholders at their respective levels. After this, after consultation at the high level, a strategy will be prepared in advance for the preparations of the next Chardham Yatra.

The Chief Minister said that under the master plan in Yamunotri Dham, the work of ropeway from Kharsali will be expedited. Clearance has been given by the monitoring committee for widening of roads on the Chardham Yatra route from Paligadh to Janakichatti and soon its work will also be completed.

At present, the work of the master plan being made for Gangotri and Yamunotri will be expedited.

He said that on the lines of Kartikeya Express running from Madurai, a special train will be operated in the name of Ganga-Yamuna Express by making a circuit of Mahasu Devta in Gangotri, Yamunotri, Hanol. Efforts are being made to start heli service in Yamunotri soon. He said that whatever decisions will be taken for the smooth operation of Chardham Yatra in the proposed Yatra Authority, they will be taken on the basis of extensive discussions and consensus with all the stakeholders.

On this occasion, various stakeholders associated with Chardham Yatra gave their suggestions. All the stakeholders associated with Chardham Yatra expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for this meeting.

He said that for the first time since the formation of the state, a Chief Minister has held a meeting with him in such detail on various topics related to Chardham. The Chief Minister said that all the suggestions will be considered and the Yatra will be conducted safely. He directed the Garhwal Commissioner to hold a meeting with the officials related to the Chardham Yatra at an interval of 15 days. (ANI)
