Gujarat govt's 'Garvi Gurjari' brand receives trademark certification from Centre

The trademark certification is not only a testament to the corporation's renowned brand- "Garvi Gurjari", but also a crucial step towards developing and preserving the handicraft sector of Gujarat.

Lalit Narayan Singh Sandu, Managing Director of GSHHDC, said both the Central Government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Gujarat Government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, have consistently promoted the traditional art and craft of Gujarat and as a result, the corporation's Garvi Gurjari brand has achieved a trademark certificate from the Government of India.

A trademark certificate offers legal brand recognition and protection for any business. With this certificate, the corporation has the power to prevent unauthorized use of its brand/name or logo by any individual/entity and secure exclusive rights to its brand identity.

The legal security empowers the corporation to fortify its market presence and reputation and enables swift action against any brand/identity infringement.

Trademark registration will help "Garvi Gurjari" in developing a unique identity in the vast handicraft market. This will allow the consumers to determine and differentiate Garvi Gurjari products from others.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel extended his wishes to the GSHHDC for getting a trademark for the Garvi Gurjari brand and said that this trade mark certification will guarantee legal protection for the beautiful handloom and handicrafts creations of Gujarati artisans marketed through Garvi Gurjari.
