Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made an important decision to allow state government employees to travel on the Vande Bharat train for Leave Travel Concession (LTC).

The decision came following a request from state government employees over the inclusion of Vande Bharat train travel in the leave travel concession they receive.

A statement released on Tuesday said, "State government employees are eligible for LTC benefits every four years, within a limit of 6,000 kilometres. Employees usually travel by train under such concessions. In recent years, Indian Railways has introduced the Vande Bharat train, which is equipped with modern facilities. State government employees had requested the inclusion of Vande Bharat train travel in the leave travel concession they receive."

"In response to the widespread interests of the employees, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, with a generous approach, has decided to include Vande Bharat train travel for LTC from the beginning of the LTC block 2020-23," it said.

As per the statement, this decision will benefit five lakh state government employees during their leave travel concession. The Finance Department will issue a resolution in this regard under the guidance of the Chief Minister.

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made an important decision to deliver Narmada water to the farmers and citizens of North Gujarat. As a result of extensive rainfall upstream of Narmada Dam, the water level in Sardar Sarovar Dam has increased, from which this water will be channelled into the lakes of North Gujarat.

The state government has planned to supply Narmada water through 13 different pipelines to a total of 952 lakes in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana and Sabarkantha districts of North Gujarat under the direction of the Chief Minister.

At present 1 thousand cusecs of water have been started to be pumped to these lakes through these pipelines, it will be gradually increased to 2400 cusecs of water to be pumped to these lakes of North Gujarat in the coming days. (ANI)
