Several women participated in a 'Saree marathon' in the Besant Nagar area, Chennai on Sunday.
The marathon, organised by a private NGO, was held to spread awareness of menstrual hygiene. Women of all ages, wearing sarees, participated in this 2-kilometre-long marathon The first prize of Rs 6000, second prize of Rs 3,000, third prize of Rs 2000 were given to the winners. All the participants received certificates. Sanitary Pads were also distributed to disseminate the message of menstrual hygiene. (ANI)
