People from various states across the country organised langar for Amarnath pilgrims at the Pahalgam base camp in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

People were seen dancing and enjoying the moment along with different savouries at the event.

A pilgrim at the spot said, "The arrangements are good. Every kind of food is being served here, and medical facilities are also available. We are lucky that God has called us."

Another batch of pilgrims left for the Amarnath yatra from the Panthachowk Srinagar base camp under tight security measures on Thursday morning.

The pilgrims set out for the holy shrine, heading towards the base camps of the Baltal and Pahalgam Yatras to connect with their faith and seek blessings.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board organises the Amarnath Yatra, which is divided into two routes: one through Pahalgam and the other through Baltal.

In the midst of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, convened a Joint Security Review Meeting at Nunwan Base Camp, Pahalgam, on July 24.

IGP Kashmir directed all security agencies to work in close coordination to ensure a safe and secure Amarnath Yatra.

The meeting also focused on strategies to counter terrorism and maintain law and order in the Pahalgam axis.

The meeting was attended by a range of stakeholders, including police officers, Army, CAPF forces, NDRF, SDRF, MRT, Base Camp directors, security, traffic, fire services, and intelligence agencies.

The review meeting underscored the commitment of all stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.

This year, the yatra started on June 29 and will end on August 19, lasting 52 days. Devotees of Lord Shiva undertake this arduous annual pilgrimage to the holy cave located in the Kashmir Himalayas. (ANI)
