In a major crackdown on Thursday, the Jammu Police recovered a staggering 435 forged gun licences from a building under construction in Gadigarh near Harward College.

Tirath Singh, who is believed to own several gun houses in the area had kept forged gun licenses in his newly under-construction building, said the police officials.

Acting on a tip-off, the raid was conducted in the presence of a magistrate at the building and a bag containing 435 gun licences was recovered along with some other documents.

An FIR has been registered and further investigations are being conducted to determine the scope of the racket and identify other persons involved, further said the police officials. (ANI)
