Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Sai takes part in plantation drive under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, his cabinet, Speaker, leader of the opposition, and members of the assembly took part in a sapling plantation drive in the residential complex of the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

CM Sai said, "Our Prime Minister has made an appeal to the entire country to plant a tree in the name of their mother and under the same campaign, we gather here to carry out a plantation drive in a 50-acre area. Together, the entire cabinet, Speaker, leader of the opposition and members of the assembly have planted saplings of separate varieties, including Neem, Peepal, Ramfal, Seetafal and others."

The tree plantation program was organized in the residential complex of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Thursday.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai planted a sapling in name of his mother. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr Raman Singh, Leader of Opposition Dr Charandas Mahant and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also took part in the campaign.

MLAs and senior officials of the state government also planted saplings in the name of their mothers. More than a hundred saplings of different species were planted in the program.

Forest department officials said that an ecological park is being developed in an area of 50 acres in the residential complex of the Vidhan Sabha.
