Addressing the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that his government would boycott the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for July 27 in protest against the central government's alleged injustice to the state in the allocation of funds in the Union Budget.

"As a mark of protest against the Central Government, we, the Telangana Government, are boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting to be held on July 27th. The Centre has violated the rights of Telangana. There is injustice to the state in the allocation of funds," Reddy said in the Assembly.

The Telangana CM also lashed out at the previous BRS government in the state and asked if former CM K Chandrashekar Rao would address a Deeksha protest along with him for the benefit of the Telangana state at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

This came in as a response to a challenge made by BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao during a heated discussion in the Assembly about Telangana's discrimination in the Union Budget.

"Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao and Thanneeru Harish Rao have talked about a protest Deeksha for the benefit of Telangana state. Surely, tell Chandrashekhar Rao to come to Jantar Mantar. Chandrashekhar Rao and me, Chandrashekhar Rao as Leader of Opposition and me as Leader of the House, we are ready to either bring funds to Telangana or even die if necessary. Fix a date and bring Chandrashekhar Rao," Reddy said.

Revanth Reddy further questioned Rao's absence in crucial discussions, stating that the BRS Chief might be avoiding the sessions due to the fear of scrutiny from PM Modi.

On Tuesday, CM Reddy said that the Centre government's slogan of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, was "bogus."

Addressing reporters at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Reddy said, "The Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas slogan is bogus. This budget looks like the Kursi Bachao Budget. Apart from Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, no state has been given anything; it looks like the PM is trying to save his chair. Telangana has given 35 per cent votes to the BJP and eight Parliament seats."
