The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Rajya Sabha MP from Kerala V Sivadasan, wrote a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman on Sunday regarding receiving a threatening call claiming to be from "Sikhs For Justice."

In a letter, he said, "This is to bring to your kind attention the matter of receiving a threatening call claiming to be from Sikhs For Justice."

"I have received a threatening call from an unknown number claiming itself to be on behalf of Sikhs for Justice on July 21, 2024, at 11.30 pm. The call was received as I was in the IGI Airport Lounge with AA Rahim MP, just minutes after receiving the call," he added.

"The partial text of the recorded call, as I could decipher, is given, Sikhs for Justice is going to bombard the Indian Parliament to Red Fort area with Khalistan referendum message. To open the eyes and ears of the Indian rulers under which Sikhs are facing existential threat. Members of Parliament, if you do not want to experience the Khalistan referendum, stay home. The message is from Gurpatwantsingh Pannun, Sikhs for Justice, General Council," he stated in a letter.

He further said that he had informed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of New Delhi District and also filed an official complaint.

"I have informed the DCP in charge of New Delhi District and an official complaint has been filed. I request you to kindly take note of the matter and take required further action," it added.

Earlier on July 9, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) extended the ban on the terrorist outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) by declaring it again an unlawful association for a further period of five years from July 10, 2024.

The Ministry extended the ban on SFJ under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, citing its involvement in "anti-national and subversive activities aimed at disrupting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India."

Earlier, the MHA had issued a similar ban against SFJ in 2019. (ANI)
