The National President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati, took to her social media account X on Friday and posted on the decision by the Congress government of Karnataka to give reservations for administrative and non-administrative posts in the state taken on July 17.

In her post, she wrote, "The decision by the Congress government of Karnataka to give the 50 per cent reservations to the local people at the administrative posts and 75 per reservations for the non-administrative posts at the non-administrative posts in the private companies is more than a dispute of right and wrong."

Further, she said, "The decision to withdraw under the pressure of the industrialists is due to them being Dhannaseth supporters like the BJP. This withdrawal is new evidence of that."

On July 17, soon after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah issued the reservation in the private sector, organisations, industries and enterprises, he put it on hold. According to him, the bill would be revisited and decided upon in the coming days.

Siddaramiah took to X and posted, "The bill approved by the cabinet to provide reservations for the Kannadigas in the private sector, organisations, industries and enterprises is still in the preparation stage. A comprehensive discussion will be held in the next cabinet meeting to make a final decision."

Bhartiya Janata Party leader CT Ravi termed the hold "natakbaazi" and said that in the state, the atmosphere is against the CM and the Congress government.

"This is all natakbaazi to divert the issue. The atmosphere is against the CM and the Congress government. To divert people from the issue, they are doing this: The Kannada schools are going to close in the state, they should first think about that. Why are the schools being closed? They are not doing anything regarding this," the BJP leader told ANI. (ANI)
