Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, on Saturday, addressed the Extended State Executive Meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a strong appeal for unity and discipline ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections in Tripura.

Emphasising the importance of ensuring victory for all BJP candidates, the CM urged the party workers to effectively communicate the development work undertaken by both the state and central governments for the welfare of the people.

In his speech, Saha highlighted the necessity of spreading awareness about the initiatives implemented at the grassroots level. He directed party members and workers to focus on connecting with the public, ensuring that the BJP's philosophy resonates with the people.

"Highlight all the development works carried out for the welfare of the people and the country. It is crucial to bring these matters to the grassroots level," Saha said.

Saha also issued a stern warning against any form of violence, unrest, or unruly behaviour during the election period. He emphasised the importance of discipline and maintaining law and order to ensure consistent victory.

"Our workers must refrain from any kind of violence, unrest, or unruly behaviour. Consistency of victory is essential, and our actions must reflect the philosophy of the BJP," he stated.

The meeting was attended by many prominent BJP leaders from both the state and centre, including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP Coordinator from North-East Sambit Patra, BJP's Lok Sabha MPs from Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, and Former Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, along with other MLAs, Ministers, BJP secretaries, district presidents, and leaders from various morchas.

The state will witness panchayat elections on August 8, with votes to be counted on August 12. (ANI)
