Bogatha Waterfall in Telangana witnesses surge in number of visitors

The number of visitors has increased in the Wazeedu block of the Mulugu district of Telangana to witness the captivating beauty of Bogatha Waterfall upon the arrival of the monsoon.

On Monday, Bogatha Waterfall in Wazeedu witnessed a surge in the number of visitors.

Visuals have shown that people were enjoying the waterfalls, including women, and kids, as monsoons have brought a significant respite from the heat.

Notably, Bogatha Waterfall in the Wazeedu block of Mulugu district is the second-highest waterfall in Telangana and is often called the "Niagara of Telangana".

As per the information, the motor-able road is not available on the route and visitors need to trek for some distance, giving visitors a chance to trek and indulge in adventure sports.

Speaking with ANI, one of the visitors Sadiyan Iyer, hailing from Warangal, said, "I came here to visit the Bogatha Waterfalls, as it is one of the biggest waterfalls in the state."

According to the district administration, "Bogatha Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall in the district of Mulugu and second biggest waterfall in the state, as, it waterfall presents a splendid spectacle of falling waters and the rich landscape and therefore, aptly gets the epithet the Niagara of Telangana."

Bogatha Waterfall is 120 km away from Bhadrachalam, and 329 km away from Hyderabad. The distance has come down from 440 km because of the newly constructed Eturnagaram bridge on National Highway 202.

According to the Met Centre of Hyderabad, "Southwest monsoon has been in a "normal" condition over Telangana and very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in B.Kothagudem and heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in J. Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Mancherial and Mulugu districts of Telangana."

A yellow alert of rainfall has been issued for all the districts of Telangana by the Regional Met Centre of Hyderabad till July 11. (ANI)
